Skitour auf die Höferspitze bei Champagne Powder

Snow condition
From Baad onwards, there is enough snow to start skiing and the snow cover is increasing with every meter. In the valley there is about 15 cm of fresh snow today. Above 1500 m it's probably 30-40 cm. On the upper slopes, the snow cover is already quite thick. There is no more stone contact
Snow quality
Light, fluffy and dusty fresh snow, the kind you only know from overseas. Great to ski and unfortunately down again far too quickly. On the north side, there was enough base to have a lot of fun with the ice-cold and mostly windless powder. I think it will stay good until the weekend
Risks
Endless slippery snow mouths below the summit ridge. Also a medium ground avalanche. Cornices are also present, especially from the previous weekend. The fresh snow was only blown over quite locally on the ridge. The rest was peaceful. A few loose snow slides on steep slopes with a small extent
Overall impression
Bomb day. The forecast was bad and it had already cleared up in the morning. Top conditions despite the late start. There's definitely still something left for the weekend and more fresh snow is coming soon
