Snow report Kleinwalsertal, 12/22/2014

An attempt at a ski tour...but with so little snow, it's just an attempt. From Rietzlern, we skied up to 1500 meters, then took the still closed Talba run with artificial snow to the ski area on the Kanzelwand.

From 1000 m north a few mm to cm of snow Above 2000 m = 20 / 30 cm of snow without a significant base. Almost snow-free on the south side up to almost 1700 m.

Only 3 pistes / ski lifts are in operation in the Kanzelwand / Fellhorn ski areas. With moderate to good artificial snow cover. Otherwise, the natural snow was displaced by the Föhn storm and pressed by the wind.

Risks

as off-piste skiing makes absolutely no sense - no danger. However, due to the sometimes stormy wind, the snow has been displaced in many places. The above 1800 meters are prone to disturbances. If there should be some snow on Christmas Day, stay alert.

Even if the tourism association will stone me... at the moment hiking and cycling in the Kleinwalt valley and in the Allgäu is more fun than skiing on heavily frequented and few artificial snow slopes.
