Neuschnee wühlen, Skitour aufs Walser Grünhorn... ein hartes Stück Arbeit bei 50 - 80 cm Neuschnee

Overall impression
Snow condition
Practically overnight there was heavy snowfall with 50 cm in the valley and up to 80 cm on the mountain and 100 cm in places. Below 1500 meters with little or no base. Due to the lack of a base, you had to keep your eyes open on the descent so as not to hit hard ground - sometimes it crunched under the slats on the descent.
Snow quality
The finest powder snow.
Risks
A stiff breeze was blowing above 1500m. Snowfall + wind + moderate visibility above the tree line did not make track work easy in the masses of fresh snow. Small loose snow avalanches could be observed on steep slopes as well as small-scale cracks in the snowpack on ridges with additional loads.
Overall impression
100 mm under the binding is still too little with so much fresh snow. If only there were a few more centimeters of old snow underneath - then it would be mega good
