Snow condition
Continuous snow cover only about 15 minutes above the middle station (1600m). Judging by the webcams, it looks quite similar at the moment. 150m from the summit we were able to ski down to the entrance to the south gully in the direction of Schwarzwassertal. The Schwarzwassertal was, as far as could be seen, white except for the bottom of the valley. white, but the road to the Schwarzwasserhütte is currently closed to hikers. split for hikers. The summit slope of the Grünhorn was also white as far as could be seen. So there is already a thin base there for the fresh snow that will hopefully coming fresh snow.
Snow quality
The descent towards Schwarzwassertal in the finest firn, we even skied it twice and the north gully was nice and grippy. Below the north gully, the snow was extremely hard.
Risks
On the south side, where there is snow, there may be sliding snow, but overall everything is very well set.
Overall impression
Despite miserable snow conditions, a beautiful first day of ski touring with great turns on the Ifen plateau.
