Snow report Kleinwalsertal, 12/30/2013
Report from ski tours of the last 4 days (28.-31.12) from the Allgäu. Locally quite different conditions. Spent the last 3 days in Kleinwalsertal, on the 28th on the Iseler.

Snow condition
On the Iseler (before the approx. 20 cm of fresh snow from the 28th to the 29th) the snow conditions were very poor, with quite a lot of ground contact overall. After the fresh snowfall, things looked much better in Keinwalsertal. However, the snow conditions here are also quite varied on a small scale. A high starting point, shady slopes and meadows as a base are still recommended. We tried the Karlstor from both the north and the east and abandoned it both times due to insufficient snow. Other descents were possible without any ground contact.
Snow quality
The fresh snow from the 28th to the 29th was very fluffy and with little wind influence. Due to the changing surface, it was still necessary to ski rather carefully most of the time.
Risks
Predominantly favorable. Have not observed any danger signs even on slopes with 35 degrees. Locally, however, drift snow remains to be observed.
Overall impression
Seek and ye shall find :-) We had to cancel some tours because there was too little snow and were then rewarded with perfect conditions on others (apart from the poor base). With the beautiful weather of the last few days, that's 3 stars :-)
