Variations of snow cover

Less snow than in the northern foothills of the Alps. Especially high alpine above 2000m heavily blown off, sharky and only in hollows a good base available.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow

Train tracks are completely filled again after a few minutes so all the loose snow is blown away. Through -15 degrees in the parking lot in the morning mostly good snow but most of the obvious tours are now tracked out.

Risks

South South-West West

Wind intensity: Extreme (> 60 km/h)

Very strong winds from the southwest have formed some hard snow packs. Beware of deposits in hollows which are very easy to trigger (see photo)

Overall impression

Equal

Too much wind for it to be fun at altitude. Searched for ice in sheltered walls today and found it. Extensive drift snow and the strong wind were challenging today.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
