Snow condition
Now that the last snowfalls are settling, there is a perfectly acceptable base. Not great, but no minesweeper for a long time either. Hopefully it won't all melt away again. Even the south-facing slopes now have enough snow just in time for the FWT.
Snow quality
Snow quality on the north side above 2200 very compact but still very easy to ski in soft, just-powdered snow. There 3.5 stars. Below 2200, the nastiest broken snow in the terrain and icy slopes. There rather 0.5 stars. Nice and slushy on the south side.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: strong
Above: 2200 m
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
During the course of the day, as the weather warmed up and the sun came out, there were some spontaneous snow slab releases. The snow of the last week seems to have settled well - but the invisible danger of old snow must be taken into account. The snow cover shows clear water grooves below about 2000m.
Avalanche activity
Dry slab avalanche (medium)
Altitude: 2400 m
We observed spontaneous triggering on a south-eastern slope as well as on a northern slope. Both at about 2400m
Overall impression
You could still find good snow on the top slope below the Dreiseenbahn today. Otherwise there wasn't really anything. All in all, better than expected, but the next few days are unlikely to be any better.
