Snow condition
Significantly improved snow conditions compared to last week. There was about 40 cm of fresh snow. However, depending on the route, contact with stones cannot be ruled out. In the forest it is also possible with caution. In some places, you can still get your skis scraped. But it was possible to ski down into the valley today.
Snow quality
P1 exit still quite powdery towards the bottom, then the quality constantly decreases. In a few places the snow is well protected and very fluffy... at the support it gets harder.
Risks
P2 was not open today and the situation in the alpine terrain is still precarious. A lot of snow has fallen with strong winds in places and several cracks were visible below la Meije. There was also some wind in the forest. If you kept your hands off the steeper runs, you could ski without much danger today despite the 4-person powder.
Overall impression
Nice, but we need more snow so that we can finally step on the gas. When P2 opens tomorrow it might look better with a reasonably solid base...but the avalanche situation there is pretty tense
