40-60 cm of fresh snow has fallen on the north side over the last few days and the snow line reached 800 m on Thursday/Friday. Saturday with the rise in temperatures the iso rose to 2300 m. North and north-west still went quite well and you can get down to 2000 m, but with plenty of stone contact as there was almost no snow here before that

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Cold powder in the morning, unfortunately very windy in les deux Alpes. Much less wind in la Grave, but already softer by early noon. You don't feel quite as much of the half meter of snow. The wind has shifted and a lot has already settled.

Risks

Large cornices, hard and thin base, poor binding to fresh snow cover. A lot of sluff comes down in the steep terrain

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Short onset of winter, but apart from on the glacier, the base is not really good enough for relaxed powdering, the risk of catching sharks is extremely high. Except on the glacier and in the upper part of the Vallon, you have to be very careful when choosing your lines.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
