Exposition

North North-Eas East

Snow condition

Descent to valley (to 1000 m)
Blown backs
Variations of snow cover

Unfortunately much less snow than expected. At the parking lot 100m carry, then solid snow throughout on the forest path but nothing at all in the forest. At the top in the cirque and on meadows unfortunately also very poor and partly sharky. Pines not covered.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow
Breakable crust
Wind drifted snow

Down on the forest trail, hard but not icy and therefore fast and pleasant. On the northern meadow slopes pleasant set powder, in the sun immediately broken slush. At the top and where the wind was flat, but still easy to ski.

Wind drifted snow

North North-Eas North-West

Intensity: medium

Altitude: 1900 m – 2100 m

Risks

No warning signs

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

Defensive tour choice today, but hardly any signs of danger. Drift snow was clearly visible on ridges and should be avoided. No sign of the old snow problem, which of course means nothing...

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne
Equal

The choice of tour today was probably a bit too optimistic, there's not enough snow in northern North Tyrol, with a few exceptions. I would recommend anything further west of Lake Achensee. Nevertheless, beautiful views and no wind at the summit give it 2 stars.
