Exposition

North North-Eas East West North-West

Snow condition

10 cm fresh snow

On sheltered north-facing slopes, you could ski down to 2200m. The glaciers are still quite well snow-covered for a descent and probably have their highest snow level for the year - but a few open holes are visible.

Snow quality

Hard, pressed snow
Wet snow
Firn
Powder snow
Jelly snow

From 3700m to 2700m there was powder on the north side, which got heavier and heavier towards the bottom. Unfortunately not of the best quality and on exposed slopes quite changeable and noticeable old snow cover. Further down there was firn, even in the afternoon no swamp.

Risks

Old snow problem
Crevasse or fall danger
Diurnal warming
North North-Eas

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Daytime warming was limited due to the low humidity on the north side. Where the fresh snow was moistened, there were small loose snow slides in the steep terrain.

Overall impression

Worse

Those who are prepared to carry longer distances to the snow were able to find some good conditions at altitude over the last few days. On the ascent up to 2500m on the hiking trail - descent up to 2200m possible, but we had to skins up again briefly. All in all, a very long tour, which was fortunately rewarded with first lines almost from the summit cross.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
