Exposition
Snow condition
There wasn't much left to pick up in the variant terrain of le Tour. Every now and then a blade of grass peeps out. Otherwise, the snow cover here is quite good. However, the ridges and ridge continue to suffer. The hollows are ok. The descents all the way down into the valley at 1500 m certainly won't get any better these days.
Snow quality
Off-piste there is a nice mix of loose powder snow and packed moguls. Excellent knee training. For more powder action, you probably have to look north towards Trento where the wind is currently blowing all the drift snow.
Risks
Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)
The strong wind is omnipresent. Even diagonal winds on the slopes blow away everything that isn't three behind the cornice. The north-east-facing descents to Trento looked blown in.
Overall impression
Due to the strong wind on ridges and at altitude, the radius of action today was limited to the piste and the nearby variant terrain of le Tour in order to get at least some sun before the weather changed. The next few days should be warmer and rainy.
