Snow condition
Objectively too thin, tour can only be recommended for people with little compassion for the material and sufficient willingness to suffer. The mountain pine slope was very difficult and required many hairpin bends in a confined space. Above that it is OK, but there are still some large stones just below the snow surface up to the Alblitjoch. In the summit gully of the Leiterspitze, the descent is a bit like Russian roulette. Otherwise, the descent from the Leiterspitze was without contact with the enemy. On the descent through the landscape cirque, the upper slopes had enough snow. Below about 2000 meters there was occasional contact with rocks. The last 200 vertical meters into the valley were really bad, there is no base and you touch stones almost constantly. The southern sides still look really bad. From the Alblitjoch towards the Leiterspitze it is best to carry the 50 m. All in all, two stars, as it fits well at the top and it is known that the tour requires a high level of snow.
Snow quality
At the top, 20-30 cm of slightly settled, somewhat slow powder (the descent was entirely in shaded terrain and in cirques). Really good but not outstanding and no comparison to the weekend. The south-facing slopes are already covered in harsh snow and soften up during the day with the current temperatures.
Risks
Favorable on the route. We had expected a lot more drift snow, but the summit gully to the Leiterspitze, for example, was surprisingly easy.
Overall impression
Very impressive scenery, nice snow at the top :-)
From a skiing point of view, there are certainly more rewarding destinations at the moment, we were expecting more snow.
