Treeruns in den Lechtalern

Snow condition
Above 1600m there is enough snow to ride properly in the forest, but the handbrake should still be applied. Because streams and tree trunks are covered, but only in such a way that you can get stuck on them perfectly. However, there is also some fresh snow in the east and south-east sectors on some of the aperes. Nevertheless, the total amount of fresh snow is quite respectable. In many places 40cm+, but the best base is in the northern sectors.
Snow quality
Initially very good, but the temperatures rose sharply as the day progressed and the snow quickly became quite heavy. However, our area was sheltered from the wind to the north and northwest, so there was no noticeable wind influence. We were in the altitude range between 1600-1900m.
Risks
Due to the tense avalanche situation, we opted for treeruns. The snow profile shows 50 cm of drift snow on a snowpack that has been transformed on the shaded side. There you could also see relatively large self-releases on the surrounding flanks.
Overall impression
Wetter day, but due to quite warm temperatures for January, the fresh snow became heavy relatively quickly. There were also quite a few people out and about, probably due to the general "stokedness" after the rather dry period

Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
