Snow condition

20 cm fresh snow

Descent through forest
Blown backs

The forest road provides easy access to the area around the Galtjoch. Not all variants are possible at the top, but it is quite easy to see what is possible and what is not. Either completely blown off or it goes quite easily.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow
Breakable crust
Powder snow

Very variable. Quite easy to ski in drifting snow, alternating between blown-out snow cover and broken snow in the tightest of spaces. It was best in the flat forest, where there was sometimes about 20 cm of fine powder snow. But even there, the snow varied depending on the slope and sometimes had a light cover.

Risks

West

Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)

I would have been more critical from home. Despite the strong wind, there wasn't a huge amount of drift snow and we didn't find it particularly brittle. Without crampons, there was a slight risk of falling in places. There is a large board on the western flank of the Bleispitze.

Better

Very nice time on the mountain, so-so skiing. Saturday was even better in terms of snow and there were certainly more suitable tours this weekend. Let's see what fresh snow (and wind...) will bring.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
