There is still enough snow to get to the pass road without any problems. In the valley, however, it is slowly turning green. There are only remnants of snow there. On the north side, however, there is still enough snow in the mountains so that descents without stone contact are possible. On the south side, things are looking a little scarcer. There was also quite a lot of wind, some of the ridges are pretty blown off.

On the north side we found a mixture of settled powder snow and drift snow, which was already relatively heavy around 11 am. Otherwise, you can currently find beautiful firn if you ski down in good time.

Risks

The main danger at the moment is probably really from sliding snow avalanches. On the ascent, we found a mixture of settled fresh snow and drift snow in the northern sector. Western slopes were quite blown off in places. The subsequent summit slope, which faces south-east, was still slightly frozen in the morning, but quickly became very difficult. Early descent is therefore absolutely necessary. According to the LLB, warning level 2 prevailed today with the warming, but a slight increase in danger is to be expected. Due to the combination of drifting snow and the quickly soaked snowpack, I would consider the situation to be critical from midday onwards.

Nice ski tour today and a few turns in the slightly heavier powder were also included :)

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
