Snow condition

3 minimal snow-free spots on the ascent in the forest, but all within limits. In the gully, 1-2 sharks peeked out at the top, but were easy to recognize, overall ok.

After the first sunny day yesterday, 10-15cm of new snow remained on the base. Almost two thirds of this was already soaked at the bottom, but this got better and better towards the end of the gully. The steeper part at the top had a thin cover, but as there was still preserved fresh snow underneath, this was no problem for the descent.

Risks

We were surprised that it was already so soft in the morning and wondered if we were too late. In the upper part we saw 2 small chutes from the day before, maybe 20m long. On the descent at 12 it was already quite soft and with a bit of traversing above a hollow you could trigger the fresh snow. (See photo)

At 11 at the exit of the gully we decided not to go up the Tagweidkopf and just went up the ridge at the Kreuzjoch. I think there are a total of 10 lines in the "gully". 6 from 6.3. and 4 today. The problem with the old tracks was solved by the fresh snow. You shouldn't expect powder, but it's still fun with wide skis. But unfortunately not enough to get to the old base.
Also good above the gully on firn!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
