Altitude

1400 - 2600m

Avalanche warning level

moderate (2)

Exposition

North North-Eas East

Snow condition

1 von 5 Sterne
40 cm fresh snow
Descent to valley (to 1400 m)

No surprise, even after the last snowfall it's still an absolute catastrophe. no pines are snowed in, lots of rock contact. There probably won't be any south-facing firn this year

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow
Wet snow
Powder snow

Really fine powder on the north side and plenty of it too. On the east side, it got a sting from the strong sun this morning. Because it was so steamy and warm, the snow on the north side also increasingly resembles honey up to around 2300.

Risks

Diurnal warming
West

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

The fresh snow did not appear to be bound like typical drift snow. The warmth most likely favored the formation of slabs.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne
Worse

Due to the poor snow conditions, it's a lot of work to get good turns. The weather did funny things to the beautiful powder today.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
