Descent to valley (to 1900 m)

Snow from the road, only a few meters are missing at the bottom. At the top, scree fields are already exposed in places, but can be safely avoided.

Snow quality

Breakable crust
Slush
Summer snow

In the cirque below the western Scharnitzkopf mostly OK, but never good. At the top the top breaks, but very evenly. Then 100m of really bad broken snow. In the cirque below the Maldonkopf super summer snow, we went up again because it was so much fun.

Risks

Much water in the snow cover

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

In the cirque below the Maldonkopf, the surface slipped below the gully. It's very slow, but can still be quite a bit together. Possibly tricky in exposed terrain, but not super critical.

Overall impression

Equal

Top! First a nice summit with some scrambling and then after a moderate descent two really good ones :-) Should stay like this for now if it doesn't rain heavily. The descent from Scharnitzsattel towards Imst is currently not worthwhile due to old avalanches.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
