früher Saisonstart bei unerwartet guten Verhältnissen

Snow condition
Starting from the parking lot on skis at this time of year is not bad. And not at 2000m or higher, no, at 1300m there was already 20cm of snow, at 1600m at least 40cm, if not more. I had chosen stone skis, but I regretted it. With my good skis, I could have had more fun, because I didn't have any stone contact until I reached the parking lot.
Snow quality
As expected, the snow was a little heavy, but still easy to ski on.
Risks
I chose flat slopes because I was on my own and didn't want to take any risks.
Overall impression
A really successful start to the season, and at low altitudes and not on the glacier. I hadn't expected to be able to set off on skis from the parking lot. I was more prepared to carry the skis for the time being.
The snow was wet, but still easy to ski on. A bit of wax on the skis wouldn't have been a bad idea on the flat, but I have to admit that the start of the season came at quite short notice for me and I hadn't waxed the old skis. I hadn't actually planned my first day of skiing at glacier level until October.
Let's hope that this good start is followed by a great winter (hopefully without old snow problems) and that we can all enjoy the snow without restrictions and stay healthy, no matter what country or region we come from.
