The snowfall finally stopped yesterday lunchtime. As we had visibility up to the higher altitudes today, we were finally able to tackle the snow outside the tree line. Here it was immediately apparent that above 2500m most of the western slopes (and some of the eastern slopes) were completely blown away. The northern and southern slopes were mostly covered with plenty of snow, but even at the highest altitudes there wasn't always enough, so that stone contact was often possible.

The north-facing slopes were super fluffy with dry powder all day long. The south-facing slopes were great in the morning, but by midday the sun and warmth had already dampened them a little. The differences between super powder, wet snow, icy passages and blown-in areas were enormous today. Due to the selected slopes, we have awarded 3 stars.

Risks

The avalanche situation was critical as the drift snow slopes were difficult to recognize and the wind blew in strongly (from 2500m). Some loose snow avalanches were visible today and increased during the day. The sun and warmth were not exactly conducive. There will probably be considerable danger again tomorrow in the lower regions (below 2200m).

Due to very good tips from the locals we were able to get the maximum out of today despite very different conditions and were therefore very satisfied! Very successful day ..... see pictures .

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
