Well below average despite the precipitation of the last few days. Locals speak of the least snowy winter in the Lötschental for 30 years. The ridges and crests have been blown clear. In the terrain near the slopes, you can still find stones from time to time. Troughs and gullies are well filled from the strong winds of the last few days.

The warmth made the fresh snow up to the Hockenhorn wetter and heavier. Below 2000m, the wet snow ensures that you can avoid hitting the bottom and that stones and tree stumps can be skied over carefree, but the poor visibility meant that detours further away from the piste were not feasible and so everything nice was quickly ploughed up.

Risks

Warning level 3: Settling noises could often be heard. I didn't see any real subsidence.

All in all, a pretty modest day. Let's hope that the temperatures drop again before the next snowfall.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
