Overall impression
Altitude
1700 - 2900m
Avalanche warning level
moderate (2)
Exposition
Snow condition
on the south-facing slopes already clearly decreasing, the sun is working diligently. otherwise snow even in the Rhone valley below. rideable south off-piste up to 1500.
Snow quality
North side still in Valais with powder. it remained shady and cold, not many people were out and about during the week so north was top. south firns up from midday below 2700.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
stable 2s. no dangers observed. no open fish mouths south yet but a few cracks forming on steep south-facing slopes. clear at night, snowpack cooling well again, stable for ascent.
Overall impression
Beautiful ski tour with north side powder descent at the height of an alp (1800hm) . then ascent again and short ridge climbing for beautiful firn descent in the afternoon. wonderful! still good snow on Saturday morning, guess that even the corners of the Valais that were still untracked are now tracked after the weekend. pray for snø :)
