Snow condition
Since the first snowfall in weeks last weekend, we can speak of an existing base. Before that, there was no snow at all in the terrain up to 2200 m above sea level. In short, the season in Valais is starting late and the snow conditions are far below average so far. It's just enough for a few selected good runs with little ascent.
Snow quality
Still nice and fluffy in places, wind-pressed upwind. On slopes with more sunlight already with cap formation. Heavy snow in the afternoon below 1700 m above sea level.
Risks
Larger slide seen in the terrain, but a few days old. Smaller wet snow slides were triggered during the course of the day near the valley floor.
Overall impression
Good start to the season with great upward potential. The basis is now there. Slight tendency towards three stars!
