Exposition
Snow condition
This time we went to the eastern part of the Mangfallgebirge. The base here is a little worse than further west. The amount of fresh snow here is up to 50 cm. However, you should keep an eye on streams and pasture fences (mostly with barbed wire).
Snow quality
Fine fresh snow, which began to settle with the first rays of sunshine. On the 2nd descent in the middle of the morning, the quality was still okay. Presumably you won't find the best quality in this exposure from tomorrow onwards.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
On the last few meters of altitude before the summit, there was some wind, which shifted the fresh snow slightly. The connection between the fresh snow and the old snow made a good impression. In steeper terrain, you should pay attention to the sluff.
Overall impression
Today was all about touring in the Eye of Mordor. The early start paid off and we were rewarded with great snow on the south side and the sunrise rounded off the day perfectly.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
