Snow report Montafon, 01/03/2015
Schneefallgrenzenglücksspiel verloren! Die Kaltfront rückte leider zu langsam nach, so dass es nur noch einen kosmetischen Überzug gab.

Snow condition
There's still not an overwhelming amount of snow for this time of year. Would give it 1.5 stars and round it up to 2 for euphoria's sake. Stone contact is very likely. Many obstacles such as ditches and streams are still open and are potential sources of danger. There are still far too few in the forest everywhere.
Snow quality
There is currently a wide range to choose from: broken hard snow of the worst kind, light melting hard snow, wind hard snow, drift snow, concrete snow below approx. 1400 m Rare: fine powder (fine too, ski when the base is hard)
Risks
Above 2000 m certainly very tricky. The hurricane-force gusts have led to large-scale displacements that are easy to trigger. Almost all blasting operations were successful. The avalanches were mostly threateningly large.
Overall impression
Where it was cold enough, there was too much wind. Unfortunately, I can't judge what the snow is like above 2,300 m. But there is usually no base and the avalanche situation remains tricky. With > 20 cm of fresh snow without wind, > 1,600 could be possible again. Maybe something will happen at the weekend.
