Overall impression
Snow condition
From Friday to Sunday there was another 70-80 cm of fresh snow. Mostly fluffy, light POW. In the higher altitudes from 2000m upwards there was also a lot of wind, the ridges were partly blown down to the grass and the snow was blown away. Due to the lack of a base, there is still stone contact in the terrain. Nevertheless, you can still get down to the valley.
Snow quality
Due to the heavy snowfall, there was now light, soft fresh snow down to the valley (where it hadn't blown off). Compared to Saturday, it's much more compact but still easy to ride. As it will continue to snow until Monday, this is likely to improve.
Risks
The critical amount of fresh snow was clearly exceeded due to the heavy snowfall and the avalanche situation was very tense. For the first time, the LLB indicated a 4, so descents in the terrain should only be made with extreme caution or if there is the slightest doubt. Numerous fish mouths and self-triggered snow slabs could be seen in the terrain. These were mainly in the steep terrain above 1800m. In addition, some of the snow had been heavily transported by the wind and was now filling the gullies and hollows. It was also extremely cold, which is slowing down the settling process. It is therefore not possible to ski on all slopes without hesitation despite the good fresh snow conditions. Watch out!
Overall impression
A good day overall, but affected by the extremely tense avalanche situation. As soon as it settles down, the fun can really begin.
