Snow report Montafon, 02/02/2018
A small but nice layer of pow that can be a lot of fun.

Snow condition
Even at the higher altitudes, there were always one or two rocky outcrops on the steeper slopes. Further down, from about 1300m, I don't think it's worth going off-piste at all. Freeriding down to the Hochjoch station? Not a chance.
Snow quality
Early in the morning, yesterday's fresh snow was very fluffy and actually deserved 4 stars. However, the sunlight made it heavier. But it was still very nice to ride.
Risks
Actually, everything seemed very safe, but on the ascent to the Zamangspitze we were able to locate a fairly large avalanche, which must have triggered itself shortly before we arrived. See picture.
Overall impression
Great day with some nice lines. However, there will hardly be any untouched spots near the ski area tomorrow.
