Nord gewinnt, Süd ist Frühjahr

Snow condition
Spring is here up to 1000m. Much higher on the south side. There is little to no snow there. Downhill runs in the forest are severely restricted. It gets better with increasing altitude. Above the tree line, it's very variable depending on the wind. I had to avoid Shark at 2300m yesterday. Well below average compared to the rest of the year
Snow quality
It feels like spring is fully here in the south. The sun softens everything and there's not much left to hollow out. On the slopes where the sun never shines, you can find set powder. Great for skiing.
Risks
As the day progressed, it got warmer and warmer and that affected the situation. While it felt good in the north, from the afternoon onwards there were problem areas where the sun reached. Even on the ascent, small cracks formed and small slabs broke off (1mx1mx20cm). Fortunately, this was in very relaxed terrain (>30 degrees). However, the places with little snow and rock danger were the main danger for me yesterday. As fourth in the round at the start, it was scary on the last run yesterday.
Overall impression
I like the winter. The conditions are so often so relaxed that you can ski everywhere. 40° and above half the winter on slopes with little traffic - I can hardly remember a better season for steep stuff. I'm really enjoying it right now.
