Snow report Montafon, 03/03/2017
Skitouren in der Silvretta von Mittwoch bis Samtag. Mit einem Wort: WIND!
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The hut warden and mountain guide think that there is a lack of one to 1.5 meters compared to halfway normal years. You can do most tours, but I'm shocked by the many blown-off slopes (e.g. west-facing slopes to the Wiesbadener Hütte)There's just enough snow to ski out to Galtür. Hopefully it will be a bit better now
Snow quality
Wind-influenced powder, drifting snow, wet powder... was possible, but it was planned differently.
Risks
Strong wind loads due to westerly winds and later foehn winds created large snow packs. We were therefore very defensive on the trail. However, we were unable to discover any fresh avalanches on our tours.
Overall impression
In between there was sunshine, it was very pleasant at the Jamtalhütte and outside is always better than at home.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
