The classic problem of winter is slowly coming to the fore. There is more snow than usual at high altitudes. At medium altitudes, the snow recedes quickly. The blanket was not sufficiently formed there. On the south-facing slopes, the areas are snowed out up to 1500m. On the north side, the snow continues to fall. Descents down to the valley are only possible in high valleys.
Snow quality
It was 14 degrees in the valley. In the area, it was soaked right up to the top. Even on the Zamangspitze, the snow was soaked and wet almost everywhere. The SChnee was still easy to ski off-piste, but it was definitely no longer dusty.
Risks
The moisture penetration was the decisive factor for me. As described, drift snow had been covered overnight and was no longer recognizable.
Overall impression
A few hours after work - it was really cool!
