Snow report Montafon, 03/27/2015
Surprisingly good day in the Montafon. Above 1,500, > 10 cm of fresh snow has been added. In general, the situation is still satisfactory, but it could be a lot better. Had a south and a north-east run today. Descent 1: 2200 - 1900 m

Snow condition
For me, it's generally below average, although there's still enough snow on the shady side to ski down to about 1000 m. On the sunny side, it's only quite good above 2000 m.
Snow quality
Where there is no sun, the snow was powdery up to around 1500 m by midday. Where the sun does reach, it was already wet on the south side in the morning up to well over 2000 m. On the shaded side, it was generally very fluffy and unbound above 2000 m, at least until midday. There was dust with every turn.
Risks
Not uncritical. On ridges > 2200 m (especially on the south and east sides), the drift snow was still clearly visible. Underneath the fresh snow was a thin, hard crust on which the bound fresh snow slid over large areas in the very steep terrain towards midday due to the heat and could possibly become dangerous.
Overall impression
Today we were able to enjoy a delightful descent in fine, fluffy powder and the crust didn't bother us at all. This was followed (on the east side) by steep meadow terrain through old wet snow chutes. This will soon no longer be skiable. At the end, however, you have to walk for about 10-15 minutes. The carrying passage will quickly become longer.
