Snow condition

In Gargellen there is still hardly any rock contact and generally there is still a lot of snow for the time of year. Even on ridges there is still enough snow to have fun.

Snow quality

Above 2200m, the northern slopes were still very, very hot pow until around 1pm, after which we got a light cap. That would actually be a very good 3. However, as the altitude decreases, the snow gets worse and worse. Yes, there is firn, but there is also a lot of slush. In the early morning there is still some ice below 2000m.

Risks

We actually felt safe everywhere today. At the moment, the conditions are quite good for touring. On south-facing slopes, it could become more critical from midday in terms of sliding snow avalanches.

Super tour day that allowed steep and rarely skiable slopes. We had sun, pow and a great group .... What more could you want?

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
