Snow condition
Towards the valley it starts to get real, but as some of the valley runs are still open - not bad. Further up, however, the conditions are first class. There is still plenty of snow. It varies slightly depending on the region in the Monatfon. Although there were very big sliding snow problems, the situation looks quite good at the moment. It's also quite warm at the moment, but the slopes aren't unloading yet. While browsing through my archives, I noticed that this time last year there was already a lot more snow on the slopes.
Snow quality
You can already find good firn. In places, however, the snow is not quite as compact as I would like for firn skiing. You can still find good snow on the north-facing slopes. But in some places there is already a good cover. On the last run, I actually thought "powder to finish off" - it ended up in a race with ice bumps that were bouncing around my ears. So good luck.
Risks
Very relaxed, apart from the daytime problems, there was nothing going on today. We felt very safe, did a lot and had no problems.
Overall impression
Spring as it should be. First-class conditions for going off-piste and having fun. There are currently hardly any restrictions at high altitudes. All in all, I say turn on the gas and have fun.
