Snow report Montafon, 04/04/2014
More than reasonable piste cruising is hardly possible, and only because there is artificial snow!

Snow condition
On the south side, it is completely snow-free up to well over 1500 m. Then it varies greatly from W-N-E. On the north side it goes up to around 1700 m and then it quickly comes to an end. A few tours above that are still possible if the weather cooperates. But the amount of snow is clearly below average and longer periods of warmth (without frost at night) will quickly turn the rest into water.
Snow quality
Spring snow (sulz) from early in the morning. In the early morning, there is still a more or less stable layer of snow, but this softens completely by late morning. The pistes are still the best alternative for a few nice turns in the snow.
Risks
There is not much snow left, but some avalanche tracks are still unloaded and pose the greatest potential danger. Typical late spring conditions. The early morning is generally very favorable.
Overall impression
Winter never really arrived. The snow that is still there will soon be history. Other sports are definitely more interesting. But as long as the lifts are running, I'll probably prefer skiing to them, as passion usually wins out ;-)
