It's mid-November and the season starts on Hochjpch. The past week has brought some basis in several small rounds. By no means enough to provide a sufficient base. Today it snowed almost down to the valley, at 1500m I would say 15-20cm. At the very top at 2400m maybe 30cm. Compared to the last 3 years, no major outliers up or down.
Snow quality
The snow on the slopes today was first class. The base is soft and doesn't wear, what has come since tonight can be described as dry and light. Over the course of the day there was about 5cm with little wind, which would be great if it had a base.
Risks
Stones and other things are much more dangerous. Stay on the slope. More is not worth it.
Overall impression
Good start to the weekend. The legs are brought out of their summer slumber again. Made the first desperate turns on a meadow, but the big feeling is yet to come. I'm looking forward to next week. Hope the base bakes nicely on the ground with the warm front.
