Snow condition
I tend between one and two stars. Almost every ridge or crest is blown off or completely peppered with stones. Otherwise, you can get down into the valley, but stone contacts are not uncommon (on the piste!!!). The wind has blown a lot of snow and therefore the conditions are extremely variable and there is no clear trend. For example, in the pictures you can see the snow depth in the snow profile that we dug out. The first picture was taken on a south-facing slope and the following one on a north-facing slope.
Snow quality
Absolute disaster... As soon as the snow felt comfortable to ride, you were immediately brought back down to earth. A crazy mixture of hard snow, firn, bare ice and acceptable snow made skiing today not exactly a walk in the park. Even the valley runs were very icy in places. Off-piste was no fun or sense today.
Risks
A 2 was called today and as we were hardly having any fun skiing anyway, we decided to check out at least two snow profiles. We came to the realization that the snow was quite compact down to the ground on both the southern and northern slopes. We found one or two weak layers at 10 and 30 cm. However, these are not coarsely crystallized. In our opinion, however, the snow cover was still very stable.
Overall impression
Well, what can you say ... Today was a day for the cat. Bad snow, a lot of wind and sometimes not enough snow didn't exactly bring much fun.
