Christmas thaw with rain and snow
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
The snow has been able to settle far up due to the heat. A crust can be seen up to approx. 2,100 m. From around 1900 m it becomes very wet and from 1700 m it is swampy. The 5 cm of fresh snow above 1800 m makes it look like winter. Above 2000 m (**), a few variations are possible. But you always have to consider how to get back to the ski area or you want to walk down into the valley from about 1500 m. Depending on the expo, it may be less or more.
Snow quality
Wet, heavy snow from around 1900m. Above 2100m the consistency starts to become good. This means that higher destinations could well be worthwhile. It is certainly very demanding in the terrain. And it is the ideal snow to get an injury.
Risks
Certainly critical above 1800 m. Below that, the snow quickly diminishes. Unfavorable catchment areas should also be avoided further down. Chutes have come loose from steep terrain. The sinking depths were considerable at around 2000 m. Very swampy at the moment.
Overall impression
I can ride a bit between the slopes, but I'm fast enough. The current snow offers high injury potential. I'm skiing a lot more on the almost empty slopes at the moment, which is nice. The SF limit today was around 1600 m . Rain below that.
