Powder in the Silvretta
Snow condition

Snow condition
It's generally a bit difficult to find the right conditions in the Montafon: you have to go quite high up to get enough snow, and there's enough snow for ski tours on the Bielerhöhe and Silvretta, but not in abundance either. You still need to ski carefully and with foresight up to approx. 2,200 m, but then the snow increases rapidly. Above 2,200 - 2,300 very good snow conditions.
Snow quality
Surprisingly found the powder. Light melt/rain crust up to approx. 2,200 m. Above that, mostly loose powder despite wind influence in the area.
Risks
Clear signs of wind transport over large areas. Beware of drift snow in gullies and hollows.
Overall impression
Good conditions in the Silvretta thanks to the high starting point. Despite wind influence above approx. 2200 m powder, partly light wind or melt crust.
