Snow condition
Tour between 1700 - 2400m. In this area, the snow conditions are sufficient for touring. Above 2200m, the influence of the wind becomes stronger and stronger. We were mainly on the north side.
Snow quality
From 1700 to almost 2000 m fine powder on hard rain crust. Very variable above this due to the influence of the wind. In many places there is unpleasant wind slush.
Risks
On slopes where the sunlight reaches, the snow cover seems to be very compact. The LLB has issued a 2, but the situation is difficult to assess, especially in wind-influenced north-facing terrain around 40° and more above 2300 m. We stayed below 35°. We then stayed below 35°.
Overall impression
Beautiful solitary tour with wonderful winter weather and panoramic views. The snow conditions are below expectations.
