Snow condition
In the Montafon itself (valley) it's unfortunately pretty poor, but from 1600m it gets better. In Gargellen, everything is white and you can start skiing straight away.
Snow quality
We actually only found well-set powder snow today. Only from about 2300m upwards was there a very light covering of half a centimeter to a maximum of one centimeter. We were mainly exposed to the north/northwest.
Risks
As expected, the avalanche situation decreased again today. According to the LLB, warning level 2 prevailed today. Overall, I can completely confirm today's report. The snowpack has settled well and powder snow was still to be found on flatter sections of the slope. The main problems at the moment are the old sliding snow that can come off at any time and the snow drifts.
Overall impression
Super tour day today on the Vergaldner Schneeberg.
