Snow condition
Absolutely sufficient to ski down the north side of the valley. In the steep south-facing slopes, it's already starting to peter out. The fresh snow will be good again. Average for the time of year.
Snow quality
The higher, the duller the snow became. Below 30° the whole thing was pretty slow. But very, very good powder from the top down to the valley.
Risks
Nothing special observed. Accumulations of drift snow could be seen in some places, but it was easy to ski around them.
Overall impression
Super pre-tour weekend in the Upper Valais.
