Snow condition
Just over 1 m of snow at 2,000 m, partly blown off. After a bit of fresh snow, the traverse snow is difficult to recognize. In the forest it was just OK - but not much fun.
Snow quality
The snow was already heavy by midday on the descent, but was still easy to ski above 2,000 meters. The structure of the snow cover is unfavorable. There is a thick, sugar-like, transformed layer at the bottom.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Altitude: 1900 m – 2600 m
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
The 3s from unfavorable structure and departed packs on the ridges can be confirmed. The old snow is slightly damp at the bottom.
Overall impression
Beautiful tour with fun skiing above 1,900m. Due to the hidden drift snow, we mostly stayed in the busy and well-traveled corridor. The clouds and wind will probably disappear tomorrow.
