Snow condition

4 von 5 Sterne

Snow has been getting deeper and deeper every day up until New Years Eve. This cycle has been delivering and making the trail breaking difficult as it is very bottomless. Despite the difficulty on the way up, it is very good on the way down.

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

Snow has been the standard, low density stuff that Niseko is famous for. Right around 5% water.

Risks

There has been an inherent spike in the avalanche hazard, although avalanche observations have been few and far between. The new snow is bonding and settling in the right side up. While it is being resorted to, it appears to be just dry loose. It should be noted that at the time this report is being written, new snow has proven to be slightly more reactive, and several small storm slab avalanches have been triggered on the interface from the brief high pressure on New Years Eve.

Overall impression

Great and getting better. Giv'r.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
