Another 40 cm has fallen since yesterday. During the course of the day, it snowed continuously and heavily. At least in the areas we saw, almost everything is rideable. Even in the dense forest, where it really needs a lot of snow, something is possible.

Very deep and powdery again. The fresh snow that fell late yesterday afternoon was enough to more than fill up yesterday's tracks in the upper section. At times you can hardly catch your breath as every turn is a face shot. From late morning onwards, there was a strong wind that moved the snow above the tree line.

Risks

Much more critical than yesterday. It was stormy from late morning. A lot of fresh snow combined with a lot of wind leads to a critical avalanche situation. As it has been snowing all day, it will be even more critical tomorrow. It's enough to hit a steep area directly above the piste with your hand to trigger a small slab (see photo). Snow cover is therefore very susceptible to disruption. Even in the forest, we could already see some slight break propagation today. The ski area is unlikely to open tomorrow, I guess.

The blasting continued until around 10:15 in the morning. Of course there was a lot going on, but it was still limited considering the amount of fresh snow and the fact that it was the weekend. Incredible runs to the 3-person pillar lift. You could hardly get enough air as you ate snow at every turn. There were also some great runs in the forest down to Hungerburg today. Japow on the Nordkette and there's more to come! Only the critical avalanche situation will severely limit the fun in the coming days.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
