Blown backs

Snow conditions on the south side of the Nordkette are still quite poor. The meadowy slopes of the Lange Sattel and the grassy areas above the Höttinger Alm can be skied quite well, from there over to the 3er descent you can even get to the Umbrüggler Alm quite well. From there onwards at the latest, you should wear bikes for the sake of your equipment and your own health.

Powder snow

Due to the warm temperatures and sunshine, the snow conditions on the south side are currently very variable. On the south-east side, the powder has held on and no cover has formed, on the south and south-west side there is broken slush or heavy powder depending on the steepness, further down generally rather heavy snow. In the next few days, as the weather cools down, there will probably be a tendency towards slush.

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

On the south side, the snow has already settled considerably up to over 2200m due to the warm temperatures and the sun. However, watch out for wet loose snow avalanches from rocky terrain, which can reach quite large dimensions.

Worse

We took advantage of the good weather and found some beautiful powder snow, especially in the upper part. Towards the bottom, both the quality of the snow and the snow conditions decrease significantly, it's finally time for a bigger snowfall.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
