Pretty much all variants down to Hungerburg are easy to ski. Care must be taken on some of the blown-off ridges, otherwise the snow conditions are excellent.

Snow quality

Better than expected. You can see and feel the wind influence at the very top. Nevertheless, the snow was powdery and, depending on the exposure, lasted until midday. Much worse on the south-west side than on the south-east side. Still very powdery in exposures where the sun doesn't hit it quite as hard. On the south side, the fresh snow became wetter as the day progressed.

Risks

Signs of wind in the snow cover cannot be overlooked. Due to the sunshine and the relatively warm temperatures, the drift snow has already settled well (south-facing!). Small avalanche sequences from steep, rocky terrain could be seen. Apart from that, no fresh avalanche cones in the cirque and cable car gullies, but gliding snow mouths have been covered a little by the fresh snow and are therefore sometimes more difficult to see. Mouths are not only on meadow slopes, but also further up below and on steep rock faces/slopes.

Definitely in the upper 3-star range. Above the high fog over the Inn Valley, bright sunshine and powder snow. And relatively few people for a Sunday. This meant there were some nice lines to be had. With a bit of flair for the right exposure, there was powder all the way down.
Around the Arzler Alm, avalanches have destroyed quite a few trees and there is a completely new track to the east and directly west of the Arzler Alm, the track now goes a lot further down than before.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
