Day after day, I drive to Mittenwald in the hope that the Dammkar can be skied, but the Karwendelbahn is not open to skiers. The avalanche commission doesn't give the go-ahead. Unfortunately, you only find out about this at around 10 am. Apart from the long journey, it's already too late for alternatives. It would be great if the avalanche commission started earlier in the morning and communicated its findings promptly. At least the experts can enjoy the powder day after day and by the time we open up, everything is already tracked... :-(
