FalknerKar Hinterriß
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
There is enough snow in the Hinterriß valley to make the approach and there is still plenty of snow on the mountain for all the gullies and slopes. Even the mountain pine fields are easily passable.
Snow quality
Best snow so far. Quickly softened in the valley and on the south side and hard underneath. In the sunless cirque, however, best powder snow. Not much fresh, soft powder, but some harder powder underneath. Great as long as it doesn't get warmer. The best pillows everywhere in the forest.
Risks
No risk at all in the last few days and today. The only thing is drift snow in north-facing steep gullies. But that was no problem at all in the Falkner Kar.
Overall impression
A challenging ski tour with the prospect of all kinds of fun. The snow is just brilliant, make sure you do something before it gets too warm.
