Snow report North chain, 03/01/2016
Afternoon run on the Nordkette, as always when you're late you can't expect much. It was already well groomed in places and the snow was wet up to 2100 meters.

Snow condition
In the east-facing gullies there were up to 40 cm of snow in the gullies, but on the standard south-facing exposures it was more like 15-20 cm. No snow below 1100 meters, ski tourers skied down to about 1400 meters, after that they were allowed to carry.
Snow quality
Unfortunately I was too late, it was quite heavy snow, depending on the exposure and ridge position also on a layer of ice.
Risks
Wet snow avalanches were the big problem today.
Overall impression
Better than expected, you could still make a few tracks. After the chill-out at the Seegrube, the wind picked up (up to 100km/h). That will probably be a bigger problem in the next few days.
